Shining with success
Self-described as a creative drama school focused on building confidence, StageAbility has been helping young people on the stage for over 10 years. Regardless of skill or ability, owner Jackie believes drama plays an important role in giving young people valuable life skills and new opportunities.
Thanks to her ethos, StageAbility is thriving in Berkshire. The drama school now operates in 15+ venues, 3 schools and sees committed children coming every week. But what’s the secret to Jackie’s success?
Setting the bar high
Jackie’s always had a passion for drama, so when flexible working became a priority, she took the plunge and started StageAbility. Part of Jackie’s success has been down to hiring the best teachers who share her ethos. They’re all committed to nurturing young people, inspiring them and showing the full potential of every child.
And because parents bought into this, the school’s popularity exploded in Berkshire. Demand was so high that weekly classes have grown into annual shows, activity camps and workshops. While each of these are different in their set-up, Jackie believes that each class goes beyond building confidence; they instil valuable life skills.
A change of direction
But with increasing demand for spaces at StageAbility came disorganisation. Jackie was drowning in spreadsheets and three systems to help her with the day-to-day running of the school. Chasing payments, issuing invoices, sending emails to parents, and keeping clean registers became a nightmare. And that’s when Jackie looked for a new member to add to her cast.

Jackie plans to continue growing by opening up more classes and expanding throughout the area. And it’s her long term goal to have her own venue for the business.
