Our mission is to help make the lives of young people better through performing arts. Youth theatre is the most creative, inspiring, dynamic and powerful way of making a difference to a young person‘s life. We do this by creating a program of learning that ignites independence and confidence in a welcoming and stimulating environment. We provide a safe, inclusive, accessible and open forum in which young people can express themselves whilst building confidence and developing skills that they can use through life. Our classes educate, engage and inspire young people and their communities. Participants make new friends whilst developing their acting techniques, self-confidence, communication and presentation skills as well as developing their creative and performance skills. We believe that performing arts isn’t just about shining on stage but also recognising those off stage. This is why we promote opportunities to learn skills in sound and lighting, set building, back stage work, costumes, stage management and props. Classes offer a unique form of creative expression and it takes a lot of courage to perform in front of others. Our classes encourage all children and young people to express themselves and their creative ideas in an interactive and nurturing setting. Even the shyest children will be able to build up self esteem and confidence in our classes.

SSD provides fun, professional and inclusive dance classes in Blairgowrie, taught by experienced and enthusiastic teachers. We offer both recreational and exam classes in Highland, Ballet, Tap and Modern, as well as recreational classes in Musical Theatre, Tumble and Street Dance.
